Understanding how TRIVIAL Ruminant Methane really is in the Atmosphere.
If the whole atmosphere around the earth was a plane flight from Auckland to Los Angeles then all methane from all sources would represent just:

- only a fraction of the pushback at Auckland airport.
However ruminant methane is only 14% of all methane so it is represented by:
2.644 metres - 14% of 18.89 metres
New Zealand has barely 1% of the world’s ruminants so this portion of the 10,496 km journey would be represented by?

26 millimetres, or for old ones among us, one inch.
The present government, the Climate Change Commission, green groups want you to swallow the notion that somehow 26 millimetres in 10,496,000,000 millimetres (10,496 kilometres) is so powerful we have to wreck our most important industry, our main export earner and the lives of farming families and rural communities.
Water vapour is the most dominant greenhouse gas by far – as much as 16,000 to 20,000 times more active than methane – on most days over New Zealand. Yet many authorities refuse to state water vapour is a greenhouse gas.
There are other very substantial well researched, scientific arguments that show ruminant methane’s contribution to warming now, or even if doubled is miniscule and impossible to measure in any practical manner.
